Rejoicing on the Ride

I went home this weekend but rather than making my usual stop in Palestine, I stopped early at the Love's in Hearne. As soon as I walked inside, the man working the cashier enthusiastically shouted hello and asked how my day was. He didn't stop there, though. For the next five minutes, I witnessed this man speak to every single person that came in and out of that store. Never in my life had I witnessed something so incredible aside from when I read about Joy, the driver of "The Energy Bus" by Jon Gordan, a book I read several years ago. I left the store with a heavy heart and tear-filled eyes, thanking God for allowing me to cross paths with the "Joy" of that convenient store. His upbeat and optimistic personality reminded me that God can use us anytime, anywhere. It's not where we are in life, it's what we DO with where we are. "Being around happy and positive people makes people feel happy and positive." God bless that man for showing hundreds of strangers every day what it means to truly "enjoy the ride." God is so good!
